Two weeks ago I had rotator cuff surgery. Very painful so far during the recovery. I had bought the shoulder sleeper pillow just before the surgery. It does help for sleep and definitely more comfortable than the sling. They gave me at the surgery center. I’m glad I bought it, but I have two constructive criticisms about the device. One is it’s on the bulky side and you have to be careful going through doorways, and number two is that the Velcro waistband is not soft and actually cut my right arm a little bit to the point where bled. After that happened the first time I now drape a towel over where the Velcro waistband attaches itself. overall, I am glad I bought it.

This was exactly what my husband needed after shoulder replacement surgery! He tried several slings and could not get comfortable. This pillow allowed him to finally sleep in a bed vs the recliner, and it made a huge difference in getting the rest he needed. Thank you!

Purchased for wife after complete shoulder replacement. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase. It is much mor comfortable and secure than the regular sling that was provided.

Our only issue (other than it is absurdly overpriced) is with the Velcro fastener where the elbow pocket flap attaches to the top of the foam block. The coarse "hook" side of the velcro has a stiff edge that sticks into my wife's bicep. To the point it was causing skin irritation. I wound up using some cast/splint padding and glued it over the edge of the velcro.

Definitely worth the hype

I was worried it would be another one of those things I buy that would end up at the top of my closet. Oh wow, I was wrong. It’s making sleeping so much more comfortable after rotator cuff surgery. Worth every penny.!

So comfortable and supportive

Very cozy support for after shoulder surgery with excellent positioning and no stress on the neck. I am an OT in orthopedics and will recommend to all my patients!

Decent.

I started out purchasing the wrong size. I’m a 5’11” female who ordered a large per website but definitely needed the smaller size. The customer service representative started an exchange for me. My problem came with the arrival of the replacement pillow. When it arrived, the large Velcro patch was partially unstitched and there were a few pulled material threads at the far side. It looked as if it was possibly a slightly used return. I immediately took photos and sent them to the representative that had helped me before, asking for an exchange as I don’t have a machine that can restitch through the Velcro border. When they responded, there was an agreement that it should not have been sent in that condition. Was told that quality control will be sent my photos. I have not heard back in almost a weeks time. The pillow works great and has helped my sleep pattern so I get a decent night sleep. I have to pin the large strap up as to not tear the Velcro more. If I don’t hear back soon, I guess I will need to take it to a shoe repair or alterations place that has a heavy duty machine to have it repaired but would be happier with a NEW replacement.

First, comfort then the preventative nature from rolling over on to the repaired shoulder. My first few nights were some of the best sleep I could have asked for.

Great! Helps me with sleep

I wish I had ordered it before the surgery. I had rotator cuff surgery with biceps tendon repair and bone shaving for arthritis. Full disclosure I am also a physician. Super comfortable and use it to sleep is great.

Raymond - Thank you so much for your fantastic 5-star review! 😊 We're delighted to hear that our pillow has been so comfortable for you during your recovery. Your well-being is our priority!

Don’t have shoulder surgery without getting one

A friend told me to get one for my rotator cuff surgery and I’m so glad I did. I use this around the house instead of the sling so I don’t have to have the strap pulling on my neck. Comfortable and easy to use. I’ve slept pretty well, which is crucial for recovery.

Cheryl - Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review! 😊 We're so delighted to hear that the Shoulder Sleeper Pillow has been a great help during your recovery. Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, and we're here for you if you ever need anything or have any questions!

Too tight on the upper arm. Had to removr cover and shaving the foam back until it fit better. However, the flap then didn’t fit right.
They only asked for height when cĥosing size.

I bought Shoulder Sleeper Pillow for my husband for after his shoulder surgery. He liked the idea of it but he got too hot during the night with it on. He is a "Hot" body ! Maybe if the fabric was more like a cooling pillow case fabric that might work out better for those who sleep hot at night. He is enjoying the cold pack and will soon be using the Red light therapy sleeve

Wow, it really is helpful and made it easier to sleep. I totally recommend it. I showed it to my doctor/surgeon and Physical Therapist and they both agreed it would not be harmful to my shoulder during recovery from should replacement surgery.

I have been using the Shoulder Sleeper since before surgery in May. It allowed me to sleep as I use the small size and am 82. Massive surgery was in June and I will sleep in it until I know I won't be rolling over on that arm. It has been a life saver as the sleeping pain that ruined my sleep has settled down. Thank you!

This is working very well for me! My only complaint, and the reason I give four stars and not five, is that it puts a little pressure on my upper bicep, which is a very tender area because of the kind of surgery I had. I ordered a small, and I am 5' 7" and 180lbs, so I'm not even right at the borderline between small and large.

Works great...much more comfortable than the sling. Only issue is price..way over priced for what it is. Optional shoulder strap would be helful.

I am glad I got it. I have had several surgeries on both shoulders and struggled with always rolling onto my shoulder while sleeping. Using this, I am sleeping better without rolling.

It is a comfortable sling to wear at night, but in my opionion could use a couple of updates... 1) the wrist strap only allows your arm to slide in. Changing that to a velcro strap, would give someone the option to pull their arm through or lay it into the sling. 2) The velcro attachment for the elbow is too close to the arm pit. I have to lean away from the sling to close it. If that could be designed to close an inch closer to the wrist, it would be easier to close.

What is the Shoulder Sleeper Pillow?

A patented orthopedic pillow developed by a physical therapist and leading orthopedic surgeons to keep your shoulder, elbow, and wrist in the correct position all night — protecting the surgical site, reducing pain, and helping you sleep through recovery.

Who is it designed for?

Patients recovering from rotator cuff repair, labral repair, SLAP repair, total shoulder replacement, reverse total shoulder replacement, or clavicle fracture. It also supports non-surgical conditions including frozen shoulder, impingement, bursitis, tendinitis, chronic shoulder pain, stroke rehabilitation requiring arm positioning, and post-mastectomy recovery.

How is it different from sleeping in a sling?

Slings are built for daytime use — not sleep. They use neck straps that cause cervical strain, have no cushioning, and do nothing to prevent your arm from shifting overnight. The Shoulder Sleeper eliminates neck straps entirely, cushions multiple sleep positions, and keeps zero pressure on your surgical site while you rest.

What size do I need?

Small/Medium fits patients 5'0"–5'10". Large/XL fits patients 5'11" and above. Choose your size based on height for the correct arm elevation and body alignment.

Do I need left or right?

Yes — select the side that matches your affected or surgical shoulder. Left for left shoulder, right for right shoulder.
